2013 Section V Indoor Track Week #2

Three athletes made the Gold Standard National Elite Marks:

 

Karmen Auble of Warsaw improved to 11-6 in the Pole Vault to achieve her first gold mark of the season.

 

Georgia Tuttle of West Irondequoit and Eileen O’Hara of Webster Thomas had a repeat 1-2 performance in the Central Region Meet where they improved to 4:45.13 and 4:46.20 respectively.

 

Other National Elite Performances included:

 

Eileen O’Hara achieved a 2nd National Elite mark in one meet when she won the 600 in the Central with a 1:42.77, she was followed by Maggie Pryslak of Mercy at 1:42.86.   But the previous night in WesternShannon Page of Hilton and Maddie Kopp of Spencerport had the race of the weekend with Section V leading times of 1:40.54 and 1:40.55 respectively.

 

Ryan Cribbin of West Irondequoit threw 53-11 for the first National Elite performance in the Boys Shot Put for Section V since Breiten Balschmiter of Newark was throwing them back in 2010.

 

Carnell Noble, sophomore, of Greece Olympia blazed a 6.61 in the 55M.  Based on last week’s times that would put him tied for 3rd in the state.

 

Brian Smith of Athena hit the first National Elite performance for the Boys 300 with a 36.39.  Fast enough to lead Section V, but 2 seconds off his best from last year. 

 

Hunter Robinson of Victor and Justin Sanders-Schifano of Sodus switched places as they took 1-2 in the 300 in the Eastern meet with Section V leading times of 42.07 and 42.68 respectively.

 

Austin Peters of McQuaid Jesuit had the best 600 time of the weekend with a 1:26.72.

 

Other outstanding performances included:

 

I hate to put a target on their backs, but Brighton runners Mullen and Ronchetti are leading the boys in every distance from 600 to 3200.

 

Andrew Mullen won the 1000 with a Section V leading time of 2:40.00, adding that to his Section V leading performance last week in the 600.

 

Will Ronchetti won the 1600 with a Section V leading time of 4:33.11, adding that to his Section V leading performance last week in the 3200.

 

Craig Hardgers of Greece Olympia had a huge 44-9 in the Triple and had the second fastest 55M to his teammate Noble with a 6.72.

 

Rubin Owens of LeRoy hit 6-4 in the High Jump.

 

McQuaid Boys left the field in the dust in the 4x800 with a 8:25.98.

 

Pittsford Sutherland Girls 1:52.16 in the 4x200 closed in on Edison Tech’s mark from last week of 1:51.38.
