The 1st Annual Trent Jackson Invitational at Brockport College’s new indoor track (the SERC) inspired some huge performances in Section V.

Dezmond Mobley of Greece Olympia set a new Section V All-Time Record in the long jump with a state leading 24-2 which is 2nd in the entire NATION (out of over 10,000 long jumpers best performances submitted to milesplit).  This won the inaugural Trent Jackson Invitational at Brockport College’s new indoor track (the SERC).   Mobley also won the high jump with a 6-7, and Mobley’s jump of 6-8 earlier in the season ranks 6th nationwide and 2nd in the state.

Karmen Auble of Warsaw pole vaulted to a New York State leading mark of 12-3 to win the Jackson Invite.  The previous evening at the Wayne-FL-Livingston championships she won the long jump with a 17-4.5 which is ½” short of Demonica Stanley’s Section V leading mark (and 8th in the state), and Auble won the shot put with a 36-5, and to top it all off, Auble took second in the 55 with a sub-8 second time.

Keith Pease of Greece Athena did not beat his own state leading time of 4:16.94 in the 1600M, but his 4:18.55 won the race by 8.5 seconds and would still be the state leading time and 2nd best in the nation if he hadn't already put up the 4:16.94.

Brian Smith of Greece Athena ran the 7th best 55M time in the NATION and lead the boys sprinters in a full on assault of the leaderboard.  Smith, Carnell Noble (Greece Olympia) and Terrance Harley (Greece Athena) went 1-2-3 in the 55M with new season bests of Smith  6.44 (3rd in state), Noble 6.48  (5th in state), Harley 6.57 (9th in state).  Then they went on to another 1-2-3 finish in the 300 where Smith lowered his season best to 34.63 (6th in nation, 3rd in state), Noble 35.58 (12th in state), Harley 36.38.

Demonica Stanley of Edison Tech won the girls 55M and brought down her Section V leading time to 7.24 which is the 2nd best in the state.

Maddie Kopp of Spencerport won the 300M with the first sub 41 of the season running a 40.97 for the 7th best time in the state.

Brennan Root of Rush Henrietta lead a group of 4 boys in the 3200 who all went sub-9:40 for the first time this season in Section V.  Root won with a 9:33.89 for the 13th best mark in the state, he was followed by Jack Scott of Fairport (9:34.78), Josh Dyrland of West Irondequoit (9:37.06) and previous season leader Will Ronchetti of Brighton (9:39.64).

Josh Hanna of Aquinas won the 600M with the first sub-1:24 of the season running a 1:23.61 (15th in the state).

Maggie Pryslak of Mercy won the girls 600M with the first sub-1:40 of the season running a 1:39.70 (19th in the state).

Max Curran of Williamson won the pole vault with a Section V leading 13-6 and is ranked 13th in the state.

Amanda Burkey of Fairport didn't beat Mackenzie Strutz season leading mark, but Burkey's 5-5 jump is the 6th best in the state this season.
