2015 Indoor Track Week 2 (Dec 12-13)

Greece Boys and Rush Girls dominate sprints, Hilton girls the vault, Gates the hurdles, and Johnson the throws.

Boys from Greece schools took top 3 in the 55 and top 4 in the 300. Byron Hearst of Greece Arcadia won the 300 (35.41) and took 2nd in the 55 (6.72).  Carnell Noble of Greece Olympia took 1st in the 55 (6.55) and 4th in the 300 (36.36). Calvary Rogers of Greece Odyssey, Tremaine Moore of Greece Olympia, and Joe Mendola of Greece Arcadia filled in the rest of the top sprinter spots.

Rush-Henrietta is just one school, but they had Lanae-Tava Thomas and Tori Thompson with the fastest 55’s (7.30 and 7.36), Sammy Watson won the 300 (40.62) and the 1000 (3:06.26) with sister Ceara having the third best time in the 300, and 1000.

Zoe Camillaci lead the Hilton girls to the top 4 performances in Section V, (if you vaulted higher than 9’, you go to Hilton), Camillaci jumped 11’ followed by Earnie Burapan at 10’, and Taylor Haude and Sarah Pirnie at 9’6”.  Ethan Maguire of Penfield won the boys with 13’7”.

Anthony Clark of Gates-Chili broke 8 in the 55m Hurdles with a 7.99, and Meaghan Schwartz of Gates lead the girls with 8.85.

Christian Johnson of Victor showed us how to do the weight throw by flinging it 52’ almost 8’ farther than the next best  (Section V Record: David Gross of Brockport 56-05.25 at the 2008 Dartmouth Relays).  Johnson also had the best Shot Put for the 2nd week.  For the girls the first leader in the weight throw is Rachel Richenberg of Canandaigua at 31-03  (Section V Record: Claire Dishong of Brockport 40-04 at the 2009 Lancaster Throw Off).

The Central Boys 1000 was fast and tight with Donny Glavin of McQuaid winning at 2:39.77 over Paul Henry and Mehamed Abdurahim of Rush Henrietta (2:39.85 and 2:39.99)

Autumn Albrecht of Brockport got the first sub-5 1500 of the season with a 4:59.80.

LeRoy has a successor to last year’s triple jumping sensation and 2014 graduate Ruben Owens , with Ryan McQuillen who is leading the boys with a 44-01, closely followed by Justin Butler of UPrep Rochester at 44-0.  Darcy DeAngelis of Spencerport leads the girls at 37-02.

Joshua Allen of SOTA set a new SVSB in the Long Jump at 21’7”.

Rebecca Wittlin of Pittsford Mendon lowered the SVSB in the 1500m Racewalk to 7:33.32.

UPrep Rochester boys brought the speed with a 4x200m time of 1:39.11
