Junior/Hurdles - Player of the Year
Parent: Margaret Booker. Season highlights: Won Division-II 100 hurdles (14.71) at states for third year in a row, second in Federations (14.53). Only D-II girl in final eight. Won D-II 100 hurdles at state qualifier (15.07), sixth in 100 (13.15). Won 100 hurdles (14.54), 100 (12.64) and 200 (26.53) at 'D' sectionals. Academics: 86 average. Future plans: Study psychology and business management at a large university. About me: Lives in Brighton. Won D-II 400 hurdles (1:05.48, second in Federations) and third in D-II pole vault (10-9) at states. Won D-II 400 hurdles (1:04.82) and pole vault (10-9) at state qualifier. Won pole vault (10-0), triple jump (34-3), 400 hurdles (1:05.51) and was third in 100 hurdles (16.31) as MVP of 'B' sectionals, leading team to its first title. Academics: 89 average. Won D-I 200 (26.14) and 400 (57.10) at state qualifier. Won 'A' sectionals in 100 (12.48), 200 (25.49) and 400 (56.82). Best 200 time 25.35 at counties. Academics: 3.84 grade point average. Parents: Wendy and Lou. Season highlights: Eleventh in D-I discus (100-0) at states. Won D-I discus (104-4), second in shot put (34-2) at state qualifier. Won 'A' sectional discus (124-10, her season-best), second in shot put (34-6). Academics: 91 average. Future plans: Considering Connecticut College, University at Buffalo, Binghamton or Vermont for environmental studies. About me: Also plays volleyball. Has attended animal science camp in Missouri for last 11 years as a specialist in training. Works at Add-En-On dog kennels in Mendon and volunteers at Mendon Village Animal Hospital.

Second in D-I 1,500 (4:39.84), second in 3,000 (10:15.04) and 3,200 relay was first (9:30.43) at state qualifier. Won 1,500 (4:40.14), second in 3,000 (10:26.91) and 3,200 relay was second (9:50.89) at 'AA' sectionals. Best 1,500 time 4:38.36 (counties) and 3,000 10:04.73 (at Hilton). Academics: 92 average. Parents: Aaronda Clarkson and Christopher Long Sr. Season highlights: Second in D-II 100 (12.80, 9th in Federations, after career-best 12.33 in preliminaries) and fifth in 200 (26.44) at states. Won D-II 200 (26.31, second time overall) and second in 100 (12.72, third time overall) at state qualifier. Won 400 (58.06), second in 100 (12.41) and second in 200 (25.78) at 'B' sectionals. Academics: 86 average. Future plans: Attending University at Buffalo to study nursing. About me: Two-time AGR selection. Rochester resident. Has earned gold, silver and bronze awards as Girl Scout of Western N.Y.

Future plans: Attending Columbia University on scholarship and will study architecture. About me: Two-time All-American, four-time AGR selection, Athlete of the Year in cross country. Academics: 97 average. Favoritesubject biology. Future plans: Attending Brigham Young University to study exercise science or dietetics. About me: A five-year cast member in the Hill Cumorah Pageant, portraying stories from the Book of Mormon for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Also plays soccer.

Works with twin sister, Kate, eight weeks as counselors at Camp Dudley at Kiniya, a YMCA summer camp for girls in Colchester, Vt. Has played piano for 12 years.

Future plans: Probably study occupational therapy in college. About me: Cross country AGR first-teamer in fall. Plays trumpet in school's wind ensemble, sings in school choir, National Honor Society member. Works part-time at Moe's Southwest Grill.

Parents: Michelle and Mark. Season highlights: Tenth in D-I 400 hurdles (1:05.33) at states. Won D-I 400 hurdles (1:04.25, personal best and season's best in area) at state qualifier. Won 400 hurdles (1:07.57), second in 400 (56.82) and fifth in 200 (27.10) at "A" sectionals. Academics: 93 average. Future plans: Attending SUNY Geneseo to study biology/pre-dental. About me: Member of school's state champion LifeSmarts team that finished fourth and 16th the last two years at nationals. Volunteers with Pittsford Summer Enrichment program, coaches at Special Olympics. Enjoys Ultimate Frisbee.

Won D-II 400 (59.10), long jump (17-2) and fifth in 200 (27.42) at state qualifier. Won long jump (17-¾), 200 (26.50), 400 (58.62) and was second in triple jump (32-11¾) at "CC" sectionals. Academics: 93.6 average. Favorite subject science. Future plans: Undecided, but would like to major in marine biology. About me: Credits her grandmother, Isophene Louder-Gay, as being a big influence "because she's always there for me." Loves to sing, and plays varsity tennis.

Parents: Wendy Henry and Glen Smith. Season highlights: Fifth in D-II 800 (2:17.24, 15th in Federations), helped D-II 1,600 relay team to 14th (4:14.24) and 3,200 relay to 24th (9:42.19) at states. Won D-II 800 (2:23.15) at state qualifier. Won 800 (2:21.40) and second in 400 (58.62) in 'CC' sectionals. Academics: 90 average. Favorite subjects physical education and economics. Future plans: Attending Edinboro University (Pa.), undecided on a major. About me: Nickname is "Bre." Helps with family's logging business. Enjoys watching all sports and movies. Won high jump (5-1) and sixth in 110 hurdles (17.40) at "C" sectionals. Jumped season-best 5-5 at Victor Twilight Invitational May 11. Academics: 96average. Favorite subject math. Emily Ziegler, Attica

Parents: Tricia and Charlie. Season highlights: Third in D-II pentathlon (2,963) at states, seventh in Federations. Won D-II pentathlon (2,687, won three of the five events) at state qualifier. Won 100 hurdles (15.67), second in 400 hurdles (1:06.29) and second in long jump (16-9½) at "B" sectionals.Academics: 92 average. Future plans: Attending Ithaca College to study human performance and nutrition. About me: Two-time AGR first-teamer. Won state D-II title last year. Six-time medalist at state level. Holds nine school records. Was president of student government.
 
Arlene DeVinney, Canandaigua
Coach of the Year
Years coaching varsity: 15. Age: 58. Career highlights: Team won first outdoor girls track sectional title in school history May 26, after an emotional season supporting former indoor track coach and earth science teacher Bob Dedrick in his battle with stomach cancer. Dedrick died June 13 at the age of 36. DeVinney's teams won FL East title in 2009, FL league title in 2006 (first since 1975). Exceptional athletes have included Ikey Ajavon, Christine Lyttle, twins Meg and Kate McCormick and Hana Wright. Family: Husband Dale is semi-retired. Four adult children: Matt DeVinney, Brett Caito, Bill DeVinney and Barb Ross. Nine grandchildren. About me: Works as an administrative aide at Canandaigua Academy. Loves to water ski and spend time with her grandchildren. Credits Canandaigua's first girls coach, Betty LaBarge, for teaching "being passionate about the sport and compassionate about the kids."
