DeAngelis and Noble ranked 1st in the State

I missed last week’s HUGE 37-02 triple jump by Spencerport’s Darcy DeAngelis which leads the state by half a foot!

CJ Noble of Greece Olympia lowered his state leading mark in the 55 a bit more to 6.51, and Byron Hearst of Greece Arcadia ran 6.56 to make the 2nd fastest in the state so far.  Byron won the 300 with 35.60 and his 35.41 from last week is 4th in the state.  Lanae-Tava Thomas of Rush Henrietta matched her SVSB of 7.30 which ranks 3rd in the state.

The pole vaulters are starting strong with Zoe Camillaci of Hilton tied for 2nd best mark in the state at 11-6 and Earnie Burapan (Hilton) at 10-6 tied for 7th statewide.  For the boys Kevin Palmisano of Canandaigua busted out a 14 footer to tie for 2nd highest in the state, Ethan Maguire (Penfield) and Jared Matthews (Fairport) both made 13-6, Ethan’s 13-7 from last week is tied for 5th in the state.

Anthony Clark of Gates-Chili who is the only Section V hurdler to break 8 so far this season. lowered it even further to 7.70 to tie for 2nd best mark in the state. Meaghan Schwartz (also of Gates) lowered her SVSB to 8.75 and ranks 13th statewide, with Alana Morrow of Mercy right behind at 8.76.

Ryan McQuillen of LeRoy set a new SVSB in the long jump at 22-01.50 to rank 4th in the state, his 44-1 triple jump from last week ranks 8th.

Christian Johnson of Victor is manhandling the rest of Section V and showing up high on the state leaderboards.  He increased his shot put to 52-04 for 6th in the state and his 52’ weight throw from last week ranks 5th in the state.  Ana Santiago of East made a new SVSB in the girls weight throw at 33-06.50 for 14th in the state.

Sammy and Ceara Watson of Rush crushed the field in the 600.  Sammy’s winning time of 1:38.32 ranks 7th in the state and Sammy’s 40.62 in the 300 from last week also ranks 7th in the state and 1st among sophomores and younger.

Emily Sheck of Webster Schroeder lowered the boom on the distance runners clocking a 10:37.64 in the 3000 to rank 7th in the state.  Scheck ran again later the same night and won her group in the 1500, but the fastest time of the weekend was by Autumn Albrecht of Brockport who lowered her SVSB to 4:57.09 and ranks 12th in the state.   Everett Geiger of Caledonia-Mumford and sophomore Paul Dellinger of Brighton ran away from the boys 3200 field with Geiger winning at 9:57.16 to rank 11th in the state and Dellinger coming in at 9:58.73 to rank 13th (2nd in the state among sophomores and younger).  Nick Neamtu of Webster Thomas leads the boys milers with a 4:35.07 in the 1600 to rank 12th in the state.

The Greece Arcadia – Greece Olympia sprinters rivalry was in its full glory in the 4x200 Friday night and this time it was Arcadia’s Joe Mendola, Dustin Ngo, Xavier McGee and Byron Hearst who took the win with a blazing 1:33.63 for 7th best in the state.  Olympia’s Alpha Barry, Shane Presley, Tremaine Moore, and CJ Noble were so close behind at 1:33.80.
