Kelly Brown sprints ahead!

Kelly Brown of Wilson Magnet took back the top state time in the 55m with a 6.40 and widened the spread between himself and the rest of Western New York winning at Houghton by 0.15 over 2nd place Tremaine Moore of Greece Olympia.  Brown also lowered his 55m Hurdles time to 7.50 for a spread of 0.23 over second place and 0.50 over 3rd.  Statewide, Brown is in a 2-way tie for state leader.

Brown, however, lost his Section V Season Best (SVSB) time in the 300 to Noah Williams of McQuaid and Anthony Smith of UPrep Rochester who burned up the track at Brockport on Saturday with times of 35.26 and 35.33 for NY State 4th and 5th rankings respectively.

Connor Spiegel of Webster Thomas raised his SVSB in the high jump from 6-4 to 6-6 for the win at Houghton and is in a 3-way tie for 2nd highest in the state.

Tobi Tella of McQuaid exceeded his own SVSB in the triple jump bounding out to 47-09 for NYS3.

Nick Neamtu of Webster Thomas took over the distance running leaderboard from Donny Glavin (McQuaid).  Neamtu added to his SVSB in the 3200 (NYS6) from earlier this season with a 4:24.15 in the 1600m for a SVSB and NYS5.

Northstar Christian is a pretty small school and they’ve somehow put together a boys 4x400 team, (Adrian Minott, Juan Camacho, Adrian Mazur, Migual DeSaja), that can clock a 3:34.81 (53.7 average)

Elsa Cole of Fillmore and Natalie Neamtu of Webster Thomas battled it out in the 1500m and came close to Sammy Watson's SVSB in the 1500.  The times are Watson 4:48.06 (from earlier in the season), Cole 4:48.61 and Neamtu 4:48.91 at Houghton.
