Penfield Boys Win at Trent Jackson and Cedric Walker Invitational!

Lancaster girls upend Gates Chili 67 to 55 while the Penfield boys outscore Corning 56 to 48 as both teams had balanced team contributions for scoring.

Lancaster dominated the weight throw with Brianna McKenzie taking first with a meet record of 54’5.5’’.  Lancaster’s Olivia George and Ashley Andrews took 5th and 6th. Madison Offhaus of Warsaw also broke the meet record placing 2nd and took over the section V leaderboard with a toss of 47’6.75”.  The shotput had the same 1-2 finish as Brianna McKenzie 40’9.25” output Madison Offhaus 36’11.5’’.  Asia Hoyte of Pittsford Mendon moved up to second on the Section V leaderboard with her toss of 35’2.5’’.

Josephine Redlin led Gates-Chili in the jumps with a second place leap of personal best 36’2” that placed her third on the Section V leaderboard for triple jump.  Asia McInnis of Greece Arcadia took third 35’5.5’’ while Gates-Chili’s Indya Richards took fourth with 34’8.5’’.  Samantha Spinella of Depew took the long jump with a leap of 18’ 0.25” while Hilton’s Anaya Dees had a personal best of 16’7.75’’ to take fourth. Gates-Chili’s SherDavesia Jacque leaped to sixth with a jump of 16’6.25’’.

Erica Ellis of Gates Chili cleared 12’7’’ to set a meet record as she also set a new record for New York sophomore pole vaulters when she eclipsed Averill Park’s Alana Carroll 2016 record of 12’4.75’’. Earnie Burapan of Hilton placed third with 11’  which places her second on the Section V leaderboard. Lily Hoyser of Pittsford Mendon cleared 10’ for her best effort of 2017 and fourth on the Section V leaderboard. 

Jenna Berry of Pittsford Mendon tied Lauren Hudson of Williamsville North’s 2013 meet record of 5’6’’ and now leads Section V’s leaderboard.  Lancaster’s team scoring saw Olivia Gervan clear 5’4’’ while Gates-Chili’s Dyonte Allen tied for third on tie breakers with Victor’s Rebecca Roth at 5’4’’. Greece Arcadia saw season best leaps of 5’2’’ for Jessica DeJesus and Asia McInnis that places them fourth and fifth on the Section V leaderboard.

On the boy’s side Penfield’s Jack Murphy outlegged Hunter Brignall of Mynderse with a 8:26 in the racewalk.  Andrew Palermo of Spencerport won the weight throw, 60’9.5’’, which placed him second on the Section V leaderboard and seventh on the state leaderboard. And he took fifth in the shot put with a toss of 48’1.25’’.  Jon Surdej of Lancaster won the shot with 52’7.75’’. Anthony Ray of Batavia just missed his best with a 51’0.25’’ effort, but still ranks ninth in the state.

Clay Curtis of Corning won the triple jump with 45’8.25’’ leap.  This jump ranks him second in the state. Greece Arcadia’s Michael Allen leaped 43’3’’ for second followed by Jayon Frater’s season best 43’2.5’’.  Penfield’s Jonah McGrath (42’10.25) took fourth to keep Penfield on pace with Corning.

McQuaid’s Noah Williams took the long jump in 22’0.25’’ and still leads the Section V leaderboard.  This leap ranks him ninth in the state. . Jalen Smith of Gates-Chili had a personal best of 21’9.5’’ for second at the meet and 11th in the state.

Antonas Kunnas of North Tonawanda set a meet record with a vault of 14’6’’ that ranks him fourth in the state. Nathan Crane of Letchworth took second at 13’6’’ and Trevor Delly of Eastridge took third with a season best 13’00. Ben Twombley (tie for third) of Canandaigua and Dustin Meyer of Gates-Chili(fifth) tied their season best of 13’00.

Dante Arbelo of Gates-Chili took first in the high jump  with a 6’1’’ jump to tie his season best that leads the Section V leaderboard with Zuhrick Jackson of Webster Thomas.  Brandon Leiter had a season best to take second and move up to second on the leaderboard. Max Colcord of Canandaigua also cleared 6’ to take third over Kobe Lewis’s 6’0 jump.

                Jaelyn Davis a freshman from Rush Henrietta ran a 7.22 in the 55m to put her 2nd on the leaderboard for the section while Ny'Shaya Henderson of Franklin ran a 7.30 closely behind her. On the boys side Noah Williams from McQuaid runs a 6.52 while miles Calhoun of Rush Henrietta runs a 6.54.

                Vanessa Watson runs a 40.95 in the 300 while the meet record is broken by Travasia Singletary of orchard Park with a 40.27! Jaquil Baxter of Edison tech. runs a 36.33 while Jacob Schmidt of Wayne runs a 36.77.

                Maddy Mason a freshman from Hilton runs a 1:39 in the 600m  to put her 3rd on the section 5 leaderboard. Nico Bellavia of Victor breaks the meat record in the 600m with a 1:23.13 while Lukas D'Alfonso comes close behind in 1:23.61.

                Justin Schramm of Greece arcadia wins the 1000m with a 2:37.76. Haley Riorden a sophomore from Rush Henrietta runs a 3:03 .14 to win her race.

                Ben Bulkeley of Fairport wins his race with a 2nd fastest section V time with 4:26.  Anna Kostarellis has the second fastest section V time in the 1500m with a 4:38 just missing out of Sammy Watsons’ 4:38.

                Paul Dellinger of Brighton wins the 3200m in 9:29 a new record while Kevin Moshier from corning follows closely behind in 9:30 while Nathan Lawler of Pittsford Mendon comes in with a 9:31 and Tyler Senall comes back and runs a 9:36. Amanda Vestri of webster Thomas just misses the meet record with a 9:59 in the 3000.

                The boys DMR team from Brighton runs a 10:57 while Greece arcadia follows with an 11:02. The Girls DMR team from Rush Henrietta run a 12:26.

                Penfield’s boys 3200m relay runs an 8:13 while Fairport comes in with an 8:23.The girls rush Henrietta relay team ran a 10:04.

Penfields’ 1600m relay ran a 3:31.40 for the meet record! Victors Girls relay ran a 4:14 to win.

UPrep Rochester ran a 1:35 to win there heat and Rush Henrietta’s girls team wins in 1:44.
