Hilton Runnin' Cadet/Saturday Night Showdown 2013

A magical day and night of exciting performances and music themed races, probably the most entertaining track meet I’ve ever been to.

Karmen Auble of Warsaw won the Pole Vault and broke her own Section V outdoor record with a jump of 12-7 and set the overall record beating Jenn O’Neill’s indoor 12-6 from 10 years ago.  This puts Auble 7 inches ahead of the next best vaulter in the state.  Zoe Camilacci of Hilton took 2nd breaking her school record with an 11-6 and is tied for 5th in the state.

Mickey Burke of Rush-Henrietta held off TJ Hornberger of Lake Shore ( meet records 9:12.16 – 9:12.70 ) in an unbelievable Glavin 3200 that produced season-best times for nearly every single boy in the field of 27.  Their times are the two fastest run in the state so far this year.

Eileen O’Hara of Webster Thomas dropped over 20 seconds off her PR to run a 9:42.89 meet record and win over Katie Lembo of Penfield who also had a meet record of 9:48.91.  As with the boys, nearly every girl had a season-best time.  Their times are 1st and 3rd respectively in the state, with Valerie Palermo’s 3rd place finish in this meet, putting her at 5th in the state.

Maddie Kopp of Spencerport repeated her performance from last week’s His & Hers with wins in the 100 (12.47), 200 (25.47) and 400 (56.99).  Her 100 and 400 times were meet records and her 400 time is the 3rd best in the state.

Desmond Mobley of Greece Olympia set meet records in the Long Jump at 23-3 (best in the state), and the High Jump with 6-5, with Rubin Owens of LeRoy sharing that high jump record and beating Mobley on misses.

Kaishaun Cathey of Edison-Tech won the Triple Jump with a meet record 47-5 which is 2nd best in the state.

Brian Smith was a double winner decisively taking the 100M with a meet record 10.86 and the 200M with 21.23.

Greece Olympia 4x100 team of Craig Hardgers, Ja'marie Jefferson, Dezmond Mobley, and Carnell "CJ" Noble set a meet record with a 42.96 which is the 2nd fastest in the state this year.

Izzy Hirtelen-Booker of HAC repeated her His & Her win in the 100M Hurdles, she's ranked 3rd in the state.

Amir Rogers of Franklin/NE and Colby Bleier of Pittsford-Sutherland both broke the meet record in the 400M Hurdles with Rogers winning at 55.71 to Bleier’s 55.90.

Sam Harding of Canandaigua won the Pole Vault with a meet record 14-3.
