Sammy Watson wins 400/800 double at Loucks Games, Kyle Rollins sets State leading mark in Pentathlon at Royal Comet

www.milesplit.com "Rush Henrietta, New York junior Sammy Watson defended her titles in the 400m and 800m at the Loucks Games this weekend with top times of 53.48 and 2:06.61.  The 400m mark is a new season-best time and ranks U.S. No. 5. At a windy, rainy and cold Royal Comet Invite there weren’t many new Section V Season Bests (SVSB) set, but Kyle Rollins of Geneseo  set a meet record in the Pentathlon with a state leading 3278.  Rollins performances included a 6’6” high jump, 4:36.06 in the 1500, 36’1” in the shot, 16.33 in the hurdles and 19’0.75” in the long jump.

Lanae-Tava Thomas of Rush-Henrietta won the 100 (12.11), 200 (24.81) and was on the winning 4x100 (49.12) and even though she didn’t run any PR’s today her 200 was still faster than anyone else in the state has run this year.

At Marion Erika Tillotson of Victor ran a 63.48 in the 400 hurdles to move from 19th to 3rd on the state leaderboard.

Tobi Tella of McQuaid Jesuit won the long jump by over 2 feet with a meet record 22-06.50 for the 6th best mark in the state this year.

Morgan Femiano of Greece Arcadia didn’t set the SVSB in the long jump but she won by nearly a foot and a half with an 18-01 to tie for the 7th best in the state.

Kilian Lewis of Pembroke discus throw of 154-03 moved him from 10th on the state leaderboard to 9th.

Penfield Boys 4x800 won Marion with an 8:05.80 (NYS11)

George Shaw of Geneseo increased his SVSB in the shot put to 50-10 (NYS17)

The 1600 SVSB was set at the Marion Invite on Friday night by Isaac Goodman of Pittsford Mendon with a 4:20.79 (NYS15) in the 1600 (following his second last week in the Glavin 3200).  Goodman’s time was faster than the Tanski battle between Mike Mallow of Fairport and Donny Glavin of McQuaid Jesuit which Mallow won 4:23.30 to 4:24.75.

The girls Tanski 1500 was won by Natalie Neamtu of Webster Thomas at 4:40.67 (NYS17) followed by Anna Kostarellis of Churchville-Chili at 4:42.18.

Greece Olympia Boys 4x100 won Marion with a 43.91 (NYS24)
